Honestly, I've used other fluid heads....mostly Bogen/Manfrotto. Those heads were top notch, and you really can't beat them. When I needed a cheaper head to do small work with, I figured I'd try the Davis & Sanford head shown here. What did I discover when I received it? It is great! It is so smooth, that you feel like you're using something at least 3 times the price! I've been using it with my Canon XHA1, and it makes the picture so smooth. My video comes out looking professional every time. No jerkiness like the old plastic heads (even if you get a pretty nice one). All things considered, if you can afford a Bogen/Manfrotto head, go for it. But if you're looking for something cheaper that gives you a pretty darn close comparison, buy this head! It won't disappoint you, and for the money, it can't be beat!

Poor quality of materials and manufacture in that the castings were rough and painted markings were rough. While the operation was smooth, it took considerable effort to pan. Did not have the right diameter screw base to match my tripod base. Returned item.

Why is it that other fluid heads are so expensive?
I had a nice photo tripod that i was using for video, which meant two things:
My video camera was way to big for the tripod head.
And i could not tilt or pan.
I unscrewed the photo head and this V12 fit perfect.
Both Pan and Tilt are smooth and easy to adjust.
Also the head is long enough to support larger video cameras(I'm using a Panasonic HPX170)
for 60 some dollars this is a super deal.

Hard to find a quality phone these days. This Panasonic does all the basics required for a home office, including a decent speakerphone. Note that the speakerphone uses AA batteries, not an AC adaptor. Phone does NOT need batteries to work as basic phone. Recommended, but only appears to be sold online.

I got this phone to replace an AT&T phone that has a very poor speaker phone. Unfortunately this one is not much better. You have to yell when only three feet away from the phone for the other person to hear you. Also, the max volume on the specker phone is not all that loud. Why can't they make a speaker phone that works that doesn't cost a hundred dollars? The speaker phone on cell phone work better (much better) than this one. Maybe they have to plug into an electrical socket to get enough power. This one runs on three AA cells.

The phone had the feature I needed for my work - the headset jack with the ability to switch back to handset when needed. Unfortunately after about three months, the sound quality went waaaay downhill and even switching to handset didn't help - the echo and horrible static remained. Plus sometimes the phone would "pick up" the line without me pressing the button - I would come up to the phone after not being near it for hours and hear a long "beeeeeep" through the headset.
I contacted Panasonic and got a replacement phone, which they said had to be a refurbished one. The second phone had the exact same problem.
I sent it back and (half a month after they received it) still am waiting for the replacement (after my very firm insisting they agreed to send a different model, alas, also refurbished). I'll most probably sell this phone and get another one instead. I don't think I trust Panasonic anymore. Not with phones, at least.

This is an excellent design and at a great price. I upgraded from the Nook classic to the Simple Touch, shorter (and lighter) than the Nook 1 or the Kindle. This case is a nicely padded envelope in an attractive faux leather finish. Best of all, its ingenious design folds to create a reading stand to prop the Nook STR up for hands-free reading. The angle is good for reading too. One of the best cases I've seen for the Touch. (There's a flip-over case with a strap from Barnes & Noble that's supposed to do the same thing, but leaves the Nook in an unsuitable vertical position.) I ordered the set with the clip-on battery powered LED reading light, which seems good. The little freebie carabiner is tiny, really a wee key chain; it come in a plastic bag with the hilarious warning "Not for mountain climbing".

I just got this and it works great. I wanted a way to backup raw HD videos from my Canon HV20 and store them in the fire safe. Buying this and an internal hard drive was much cheaper than an external hard drive. I got this and a 750 GB internal drive for less than $90. And now I have the ability to expand my storage space in the future by simply buying another drive and plugging it in.

The drive takes desktop and laptop hard drives. It comes with both USB and eSATA cables (which some don't). I've only used USB so far. It took a little over an hour to transfer 100 GB of data. I'm sure the eSATA will be faster but this works for now. It was super easy. Per the directions, I just plugged up the cables, inserted the drive and hit power. The drive was visible in Windows Explorer and ready to go (the drive I bought was already formatted). That's it and it worked great.

I bought one of these for myself a while ago - and while Im sure this was a great camera 7 years ago - its just not up to par anymore - Ive also seen the image quality deteriorate in the last few years ive had it - this is in all lighting situations as time moves along the pixels just get bigger and more noticeable.... Id say its realistically a 15 dollar digital camera you pick up at a drug store....thats what its worth.

It's perfect for a first digital camera. It's very easy to use and the quality is very good for the web, email and for small 4x7 prints.

I recommend getting rechargeable batteries, because the Alkaline won't last that long. Other than that, it's a very good camera.

For the price of [$$$], you can't beat it.

I hate to rip on items, but this bag is awful. I wound up giving it away for nothing and buying a much nicer bag for less.

Disregard the picture, this bag is not the well-constructed, rugged leather bag you think you see. It's light, flimsy and feels very cheap.

The worst part is the main zipper that (allegedly) holds this bag closed, supposedly securing your valuable camera. I had this bag less than ONE week before the zipper quit holding. You know the deal, the teeth come apart and the zipper is hopelessly stuck in the middle. Tug it back and try again, same thing. Why, why, why do companies make products this poorly???

Stay far away from this bag. I hate to give this type of review, but I got burned on this one. Don't make the same mistake.

I have used this bag frequently for the last 4 years: S1 to S5 Canon camera + batteries + wallet + PDA + passport = everything I need fits in it, without being too big of a bag. Now its time to buy a new one because the band is starting to fall off. But, hey for 4 years (!) is not that bad.
I hope that the bag is nowadays still the same quality.
I have never had any other bag for my camera, so can't really compare it with other bags.
For a few bucks I am buying it again.

I don't understand why people give this case bad reviews. I have two large slr cameras- a Nikon d70 and a Fuji S2 pro. I bought one for the Fuji and liked it so much , I bought another for the Nikon. You don't pay 10 to 20 dollars for a plastic case and expect it to last forever. I take care of my cases and they work fine for me. If you want durability, pay 50 to 100 dollars for a leather case.

I found this book to be very helpful in showing me what to expect when planning our cruise through the inside passage. The pictures are very colorful and the information helpful. I feel prepared for our trip.

This is a nice little publication from the ADFG. It is a fairly densely packed 82 page booklet which covers nearly all the species you will see on a cruise or ferry ride through the Inside Passage. While it doesn't cover everything, like less common sea birds or odd whale species like minke whales and Rhinoceros auklets, it does cover the commonly seen species like humpbacks, bears, eagles and puffin very well. If you a hard core birder, you will still need a separate guide. But for the average visitor, this book is perfect. I have seen lots of "souvenir" guides to the wildlife of the area, but this one has real substance with good photos to boot.

The book is split into an introduction and tips, Habitats, Wildlife, and Routes. The routes were what I liked best. They give you a good idea of what to look for when you are passing whale feeding areas or places where bears tend to walk beaches. Where some books have nice photos and little summaries, this guide is truly a viewing guide, telling you how and where to be looking for the animals you want to see. Most species have tips of what to look and listen for.

The book itself is light and a nice size for slipping into a backpack. Definitely a resource to have on the ship with you. For price and size, a great resource.
