I live in an apartment with a tiny kitchen, and I'm the only one who drinks coffee. I saw this coffee maker and thought it would be perfect. I liked the look of it, and it was just the right size. I liked it a lot...that is until I noticed that suddenly, the pot had a tiny crack in it. I had it for about a year, and used it about every day so I figured it was just time for another one.

The next one, I had for a couple months until I accidently banged the pot on the sink while cleaning. It wasn't even a very hard hit, but it was hard enough. Seeing that there was no replacement coffee pots, I purchased another. The design is a slight bit different with this one. I've noticed that the coffee doesn't get very hot...I have to microwave it about every morning for a few seconds. I've also noticed that the handle on the pot is a little loose...great. Once this one is done, I'm done too.

I don't see why they wouldn't offer a replacement pot when the ones that come with the machine are so fragile. Also, the pour on those pots are terrible if you make more than a couple of cups, which I seldom do. For all of these reasons, I will be going with something different the next time.

I loved the first one but it only lasted about 6 months before it just up and died. I ran out and got the exact same one from another retailer and it was broke. The new one just poured water out of the bottom where the power cord is. I would think this is an issue that could kill someone. I couldnt help but notice the "QC Passed" sticker on the bottom when I turned it over to see where the water was coming from. I dont know if I could trust another one.

G.E. has incorporated all the best features of higher priced coffee makers in this compact, inexpensive 5-cup model. I especially appreciate the permanent filter; and the display that flashes while the coffee is brewing, and lights steady when it is done. The water level indicators are inside, so I can see the quantity while I am pouring, instead of having of look on the sides, as with other makers. The brewed coffee is consistently good. With a charcoal filter, programmable timer, and automatic shutoff, this little marvel is an amazing bargain.
